Hostel facilities are available for both men and women at very reasonable price. There are 16 Halls and Hostels under the University of Calcutta giving convenience to around 1550 understudies concentrating in the University Colleges of Arts, Commerce, Science ,Technology and Law and furthermore the Undergraduate understudies of the schools just as men research researchers/colleagues of the University. Since 1976, the University of Calcutta has been teaching the qualities and standards of business management (as a course), under the umbrella of the commerce department. The Department of Business Management was shaped, as a different division, in 1985 to adapt to the expanding significance of the executives instruction. A brief history about Calcutta University…
The University of Calcutta was established on 24 January 1857. It is the first institution in Asia to be established as a multidisciplinary and secular Western-style university. Ragging, in the entirety of its structures, is completely prohibited in the University. According to the Supreme Court of India order; anybody indulging in ragging will be rebuffed fittingly. University has a 'Zero resilience strategy' in this regard. Moreover, there is an anti-ragging council in the University to deal with such sort of law infringement.
Railway Station
It takes 12 minutes to travel from Howrah Station to Calcutta University Alipore Campus. Approximate driving distance between Howrah Station and Calcutta University Alipore Campus is 10 kms or 6.2 miles or 5.4 nautical miles. Travel time refers to the time taken if the distance is covered by a car.
Airport
Campus is 23.1 Kms from Airport and one can reach approximately 40 minutes by car.
