In 2003, Amma appointed Dr. P. Venkat Rangan as the Vice Chancellor of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

In 1993, Dr. Rangan founded the first International Conference on Multimedia: ACM Multimedia 93, for which he was the Program Chairman. This is now the premier world-wide conference on multimedia. Dr. Rangan also founded the first International Journal on Multimedia: ACM/Springer-Verlag Multimedia Systems, which is now the premier journal on Multimedia. Several startup companies have emerged from Dr. Rangan's Multimedia Lab: these include: San Diego based Intervu (1995) and InnovaTV (1997), successful pioneers in Internet video streaming.

In 1999, Dr. Rangan took a two and a half year leave of absence from UCSD to found Yodlee, Inc.. He raised about $40 million for Yodlee from Sequoia Capital, Accel Partners, AOL, Bank of America, etc., invented online account aggregation, built Yodlee's business with major portals and banks, served as its President and CEO during the first two years, after which he hired a full management team to run Yodlee. Dr. Rangan continued to serve as Founder and Chairman of the Board of Yodlee till August 2002. Yodlee is now a multinational company with a 98% market share in online account aggregation with over 100 customers that include almost all of the top 10 portals and top 50 financial institutions of the world.

In July 2000, Internet World featured Dr. Rangan on its cover page and named him as one of the top 25 Stars of Internet Technologies.

Dr. Sankaran currently serves as Registrar of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

Dr. Sankaran received his Ph.D. in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and has had a long and distinguished career as a Professor, Chairperson, Principal, and an Academician. Since the founding of Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri campus, Dr. Sankaran has been a key academic leader in his role as the Principal, actively contributing to its development, and overseeing two NAAC accreditations of the campus with both of them yielding an A grade.

Dr. Sasangan Ramanathan, Dean- Engineering and a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, brings with him over 20 years of international research, management and leadership experience. Dr. Sasangan’s focus and dedication is in preparing the next generation graduates for challenges in science, engineering, technology and management. He represents the university’s commitment to excellence in teaching, learning, research and positive contribution to the society. He is a strong believer in an educational process that promotes creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship while providing the students with strong fundamentals. Dr. Sasangan Ramanathan holds a Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University (USA), has served in various capacities in research and development in the US. Recently, he served as the Chief Technology Officer for a multi-million dollar company in the US in developing cutting edge technology for advanced semiconductor device fabrication.

Bipin Nair received his Ph.D. in Microbiology in 1986 from the Department of Microbiology, M.S. University of Baroda, India and received his post-doctoral training at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, USA, in the Dept. of Pharmacology from 1987-1992. His major contributions during that phase were in the areas of growth factor receptor signaling, GTP binding proteins and second messenger pathways.

Dr. Nair then moved to the Biotechnology industry in 1993 and held the position of Senior Scientist- Lead Discovery at MDS Pharma Services in Seattle, Washington, USA. His experience with High Throughput Screening and application of novel technologies to a wide range of target areas, resulted in many significant achievements for MDS, during his tenure as Research Manager--Lead Discovery, at MDS Pharma Services.

Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh is the Director & Professor at Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (AWNA) and Dean of International Programs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh pursued her Ph. D. in Computer Science from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and authored a research thesis titled Wireless Sensor Network to Detect Rainfall Induced Landslides. Her research work was instrumental in deploying the first ever Wireless Sensor Network system capable of issuing landslide warning. She has received U.S. Patent US 13/168,3572014. for this work, "Network based system for predicting landslides and providing early warnings". She has an M. B. A. in Systems Management and Financial Management from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. She completed her B. Tech. in Production Engineering from Kerala University.

Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh is the Dean of International Programs. She heads all the activities of Amrita Center for International Programs (ACIP). The Center has been incharge of developing collaborative initiatives between Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and other International Universities. The main work includes developing MoU with international universities for faculty and student exchange programs, dual degree programs, research collaborations etc. As of now Amrita has signed 153 MoU's since 2005.

Dr. U. Krishnakumar currently serves as Chairman (Board of Studies), Director & Research Supervisor in the Department of Computer Science and I.T., School of Arts & Sciences, Kochi. He recieved his Ph. D. from IIT-Mumbai and M.E. in CS from I.I.Sc., Bangalore. He has 39 years academic experience and 21 years research experience in India and abroad. His areas of research include Distributed Computing, Medical Informatics, Mentoring, Culture and Media Studies.

Dr. Balakrishnan Shankar is the Associate Dean for the School of Engineering at Amritapuri campus. He currently serves as a Professor, Head of the Department and the Chairperson at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri. His research interest includes Materials Science. Dr. Balakrishnan Shankar received his Ph. D. from University of Texas at Austin, USA.

Thirty four years of academic experience, including twenty three years abroad, teaching at universities such as Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, New York University, Oklahoma City University, Pace University, San Francisco State University and University of San Francisco.  Has  also taught in academic programs in Canada, China, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore. Has published in recognized US academic journals such as the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of International Money and Finance and the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money.  Worked briefly for the United Nations (Center for Transnational Corporations) in New York.

Dr. Prem Kumar Vasudevan Nair currently serves as the Medical Director at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences at Kochi campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. He also serves as a Professor at the Department of Gastroenterology at the School of Medicine, Kochi. He is a skilled clinician par excellence and also serves as a Professor at the Department of Gastroenterology at the School of Medicine, Kochi.

He has pursued Doctor of Medicine (D. M.) and has completed his Fellowship of American College of Physicians (F. A. C. P.)  in Hepatology from the School of Medicine at University of Southern California in June 1986.

Professor Nair is the Dean of Research to Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, and also the Director of Amrita Centre for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine (ACNSMM), Health Sciences Campus. Dr. Nair received his Bachelor of Technology degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India, in 1976; Master of Science (1978) and Doctor of Engineering Science (1983) degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Columbia University, New York, USA. He joined the faculty of the Mechanical Engineering Department of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA, USA, in 1985 where he has since taught and conducted research in the area of composite materials. In 2006, he joined Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, India. He heads initiatives in the applications of Nanotechnology to Medicine and Energy areas. Areas of research include nanomedicine, tissue engineering, surface modification of materials, and uses of nanomaterials in photovoltaics, supercapacitors and batteries.

Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan is the Dean of Post Graduate Programs at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham heads the Center for Cybersecurity Systems and Networks and Amrita Technology Business Incubator (Amrita TBI) at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. 

Dr. Krishnashree is an ardent researcher with multi-disciplinary interests, and holds a PhD degree from Clarkson University, NY, USA. Her areas of interest in  Cybersecurity & governance, Mathematical Modeling of Systems, Cybersecurity policy, IoT Security, Public Safety, Innovation, Educational Technologies & Entrepreneurship. She also leads research teams focused on enhancement of laboratory education through virtual laboratories. She holds 33 US patents, and has published over 50 publications in Journals & Conferences. She has played an active role in several strategic initiatives for Govt. of India and served as the Principal Investigator.

Dr. P. Rammanohar is the Research Director of Amrita School of Ayurveda. He received BAMS degree from Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore, in 1991 and MD (Ay) degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, in 2001. He has been contributing in the field of Ayurvedic research since the last 24 years. He has to his credit more than 60 publications with research papers published in SCI research journals as well as contributions in other journals and chapters for books.

Dr. Manohar was honored with the Ayurveda Marga Pravarthaka Award by the L. Mahadevan’s Ayurveda Foundation in 2014 and Vaidya Sundarlal Joshi Smriti Sodha Puraskara by the Mahagujarat Medical Society in 2015. In 2016, Poonthottam Ayurvedashram bestowed the Bharadvaja Puraskaram Award to him for contributions to research in Ayurveda. In 2017, he was honoured with Dr. C. Dwarakanath Memorial Award by IASTAM for contributions to contemporary interpretations of the principles of Ayurveda. He has made research visits to United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Argentina, Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, Austria, Latvia, Russia, Denmark, Belgium, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand and Sri Lanka for the promotion of Ayurveda.
