Admissions & Cut-Offs

PGPM

  • Valid CAT/ GMAT/XAT/CMAT score
  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institution
  • A minimum work experience of two years

PGDM

  • All applicants are required to appear for GMAT/CAT*/XAT+/CMAT before applying
  • All applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institution
  • Freshers and candidates with less than 24 months of work experience are eligible to apply
  • There will be a special preference for College / University rank holders in terms of an extra weightage gained as part of the selection process

PGXPM

  • Completed a minimum 10+2+3 years of education with an academic track record of 50% throughout
  • Should be currently working / or doing own business venture
  • Should have a minimum work experience of 8 years
  • Such applicants, who do not have a valid aptitude test score as stated here, would need to take the Great Lakes Aptitude test GREAT as a prerequisite instead and would need to get a score acceptable to Great Lakes at their sole discretion, to be eligible for the admission process further
  • An in-principle agreement with the employer would be required for self-sponsored candidates.

 

PGPM FLEX

  • Completed a minimum 10+2+3 years of education with an academic track record of 50% throughout
  • Should have a minimum work experience of at least 2+ years.
  • Candidates with 18-24 months work experience will be considered if found to be exceptionally good.

FAMILY ENTERPRISES MANAGEMENT

  • Convocation - The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that India has emerged as an attractive destination for global investors and asked educational institutions to maintain high standards and foster academic excellence. He was addressing the Convocation of Great Lakes Institute of Management, in Chennai.
  • Human Capital Management - The 15th Annual Convocation saw 624 students graduating this year across full-time and executive programs including PGPM, PGDM, PGXPM and PGPM (Flex). A total of 107 gold medals were awarded to nearly 95 graduands in the following categories – Academic toppers, Overall outstanding contribution, Dean’s merit list, Domain toppers, best Empirical Study and Committee contributors. Sai Medha Pradeep, from the PGPM batch of 2018 -19,  bagged four gold medals for the best academic topper, best outgoing student, marketing domain topper, and best empirical study, and received a cash prize of INR 4 lakhs.
  • International Entrepreneurship Conference - The International Entrepreneurship conference is an annual conference hosted by the Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIE), Great Lakes Institute of Management. The conference acts as a platform to showcase innovations by budding entrepreneurs which helps them attain their goals effectively. The conference also encompasses the outlook of academicians and corporates to share their views on the current Entrepreneurial challenges.
  • Annual Alumni Meet - The Alumni Directorate, Great Lakes Institute of Management organized its Annual Alumni Meet on 20th & 21st January 2018 at its Manamai Campus. The two-day event saw several alumni across batches and programs gathering to renew friendships and relive their college years that consisted of power talk, game sessions, interactions, and entertainment.
  • Sanghamitra - Sangamitra is Great Lakes’ first fest of the academic year. It is an intra-college cultural and sports fest that gives the students a platform to showcase their talents. There is competition, fun and action as everyone gears up to cheer their teams. A range of games – Table Tennis, Chess, Throw ball, Basketball, Kho Kho, Badminton, Cricket, Volleyball etc. – bring high energy and a great ice breaker between the students.

Anti ragging

It is brought to the notice of all AICTE approved Institutions, students and other various stakeholders that ragging is a criminal offence and AICTE has already framed its Regulation which has been notified vide F.No. 37-3/Legal/AICTE/2009 dated July 1, 2009 (available on AICTE web portal aicte-india.org) on curbing the menace of ragging in AICTE approved Technical Institutions, in order to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging in AICTE approved Technical Institutions.

The above Regulation is mandatory and applies to all AICTE approved Institutions. Therefore, all these Institutions should take necessary steps for its proper implementation such as: - 

  • Constitution of Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Squad,
  • Obtaining Undertakings at the time of admission and allotment of Hostel accommodation,
  • A dedicated cadre of Warden (s),
  • Appointing Professional Counselor(s) for Freshers,
  • Erection of Posters/Banners displaying provisions of law, punishments, etc.

 

Any violation of AICTE Regulations as cited above by an AICTE approved Institution or an instance wherein any Institution fails to take adequate steps to prevent ragging or fails to act in accordance with these regulations or fails to punish perpetrators or incidents of ragging suitably, AICTE shall call for punitive action against erring Institutions as per provisions of the Approval Process Handbook.

How to reach

Chennai is well connected through Air and Railway from all over India.

By Train, you need to get down at Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central Railway Station and take the service of Ola or Uber. It is around 65 KM from Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central Railway Station (1 hour and 20 minutes journey).

From Chennai International Airport to Great Lakes Institute of Management is around 63 KM, it will take around 1 hour and 13 minutes in normal Traffic to reach Great Lakes Institute of Management.
