Food and Accommodation

There are 3 girls hostels and 1 boys hostel.

One girl's hostel and boys hostel are located outside the campus.

The hostel fees is between Rs. 50,000-60,000 per annum. The food offered  is very good and fully hygenic.

The canteen has a variety of food but it is costly. Classrooms and labs are very well maintained and the campus is kept very clean.

 

About MIT World Peace University (MITWPU- Pune)

MIT WPU Pune is a part of the MIT group of institutions. It is a state private university  (deemed university ). At MIT WPU  the courses offered are BBA, BBA-IB, and BBA-CA in undergraduation and MBA in postgraduation.

The campus also has  houses for World Peace Centre. The  UNESCO chair for Human Rights, Democracy, Peace and Tolerance. MIT WPU Pune was established in 1983. In 2017, MIT Group of Institutes was awarded university status and the college was merged to form MIT-WPU Faculty of Engineering.  Academic departments include the Centre for Management Studies & Research.

Teachers and faculties are involved in various R&D activities like writing research proposals for submission to UOP, DST, AICTE, IBM, DBT, UGC etc., as well as publishing and presenting research papers in National and International Conferences. There are research collaborations and lectures conducted in MITCOE for the benefit of MITCOE-ts' in association with different organizations like MIR Labs, IEEE and UOP.

Cultural activities like Dramatics, Literary Arts and Music as well as Sports and other activities are very important for the students to take part. The students are  also  participating in Firodiya Karandak an inter-collegiate competition where students showcase their talents through plays.  Students regularly participate in linguistic and Marathi play competitions like Purshottam Karandtak. MITCOE remained in the top three ranks of Purshottam karandtak and was the winner of its 2011 edition.

  • Students are also involved in activities with bodies like IEEE, SAE International, ISTE , IETE and CSI.

MITCIE regularly takes part in an international robotics event called ROBOCON hosted by MIT in association with Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). The event gets televised on Doordarshan (Prasarbharati) and colleges from 16 different nations send robotics teams to take part in this competition. In 2010 a special dedicated lab for Robocon have been added to the MITCOE. 

The technical event of MITCOE is called TESLA, which includes competitions, workshops and seminars. It was formerly known as Pinnacle and is scheduled in September each year. Participants from many colleges of India come to take part in this technical event.

Scholarship to Rank Holders:-

This Rank holder scholarship is applicable to 1st and 2nd rank holders for subsequent years . This scholarship would not be applicable to the students continuing with the 100% waiver scholarship.

Scholarship to Elite Sportsman:-

Any student who participates or wins a medal at the national or international level, while representing MIT-WPU or playing for any govt. sponsored/ govt. recognized official sports organization in any nationally or internationally sporting event, in individual or team sports would be eligible for the scholarship only in the year he/ she wins the medal.



College Events

  • Team Piranha Racing is the official BAJA SAE team of MIT-WPU. It is  dedicated towards designing and manufacturing an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) for competing in BAJA SAE competitions worldwide.
  • TIFAN stands for “Technology Innovation Forum for Agricultural Nurturing”. It is a first ever student’s competition in agricultural innovation. It is organized by SAE India Off-Highway board and Mahatma PhuleKrishiVidyapeeth ,Rahuri. The real objective of TIFAN competition is to provide a platform for Agricultural product innovation by generating a talent pool for off-highway industry.
  • Abhivyakti is an Annual Inter College Literary Festival organised by the students of MIT-World Peace University. This Event has been one of the crown jewels of the MIT-WPU University’s cultural, art and literary activities. Mere technical knowledge is not enough for the overall growth of the youth and a platform that would showcase the talents of students in various fields was needed.
  • Sourabh magazine is the annual college magazine of MITWPU Pune inspired by Prof.Dr.V.D. Karad sir and R.V. Karad sir. Sourabh has always stood as a medium for the students of MIT-WPU to showcase their talents in the forms of writing, art,design or painting to the larger college audience. It gives them a stage to speak freely on regional, national and international issues.

Anti ragging

Anti-Ragging Committee of  MITWPU  ensures compliance with the provisions of the regulations as well as the provisions of the law concerning ragging is in force.

It also monitors and oversees the performance of the Anti-Ragging Squad in prevention of ragging in the institution.
