Food and Accommodation

A hostel has to be a home away from home for every student. At NMIMS the students are provided with excellent housing facilities. Situated a stone throw away from the campus, thw hostels for both boys and girls have great infrastructure and are equipped to make students feel at home. Whether it is chilling with friends over a cup of tea on a rainy day or getting together to stay the night up for studying, the NMIMS students have a time of their lives at the hostels. NMIMS has two-fledged hostels and four rented residential accomodations (taken care of by the university) in Mumbai, seperately for boys and girls. While the allotment is done on a first come first serve basis, outstation students are given the preference. Recreation is never a problem at the hostels. With gyms and sports facilities, it is an all-encompassing space. The boys' hostel has ample space to play outdoor sports and is mostlyfrequented during the evenings.Students are treated to good quality, affordable food in the hostel messes. This ensures the food is the least of the worries for the budding managers of tomorrow. For the students of SPTM and MPSTME Shirpur Campuses, hostel facilities with all the mordern amenities, good nutritious food, and purified drinking water facilities are available for both boys and girls.

NMIMS University, Mumbai Scholarship :

Central Sector Scheme of scholarship for college and university students offers financial support to the economically weaker students from general, SC, ST communities and physically handicapped students.
Eligibility- Students who are above 80th percentile of successful candidates in class 10+2 or equivalent and have family income less than INR 6 Lakhs per annum, pursuing regular courses and not availing of any other scholarship scheme.
The rate of scholarship is INR 1000/- per month at graduation level for the first three years and INR 2000/- per month at post graduation level.
Students pursuing professional courses would get INR 2000/- per month in the 4th and 5th year. The scholarship is paid for 10 months in an academic year.

  • Inspirus 2019:Pravin Dalal School of Entrepreneurship & Family Business Management, NMIMS University, Mumbai successfully organised its annual flagship business event INSPIRUS on November, 8th 2019.   • AN EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE TO REMEMBER!- SVKM’s NMIMS, Indore Campus organized its very first TEDx event on 15th October 2019. Various speakers from diverse backgrounds, distinct qualities, and unique stories spoke eloquently on the theme of the event “Life: Expect the Unexpected”. Eminent speakers who graced the event were Ankit Aggrawal, Manish Tyagi, Rahul Bhatnagar, Nihad Panju, Nikita Sharma, Neha Jain, Vani Kabir, Divya Rathod, Athar Ali Nagpurwala, Navrajvir Singh, Dilip Auti and Tarang Chandola.The event witnessed some awe inspiring and inspiring talks. Mr. Manish Tyagi, the stand-up comic, also known as The Knotty Commander spoke on the topic “Conversations Flow More”. He accentuated on the importance of having conversation with people without having the fear of being judged or advised. Mr. Rahul Bhatnagar laid down his idea of using social media to create and develop businesses. Mr. Nihad Panju, a meningitis survivor and a marathon runner who has represented India on global stage asserted that people must not allow any kind of disability to stop them from achieving their dreams. Divya Rathod an alumnus of NMIMS University spoke about the importance of amalgamation of scientific research and entrepreneurship. Co-founder of ChaiKaapi Mr. Athar Ali Nagpurwala in a very moving speech enthralled audience with a simple yet powerful idea of love and empathy and how these helped him in his own journey of life. Modern Sufi Ms. Vani Kabir spoke about her challenges of being a single mother and provided guidelines for girls and women how to pursue their dreams and career despite setbacks in personal life.
  • When countries talk about higher education at the FPJ-NMIMS education conference: India is the second largest source of students traveling overseas for education. As per the UNESCO Institute of Statistics data, the flow of Indian students to other countries touched the 3 lakh mark in 2016. This figure will continue to increase with more and more students looking to go abroad for higher education. Anti ragging

The Anti - Ragging Committee whose role is to monitor the measures taken by the Institute for prevention of ragging and for looking into the specific instances of ragging. The Anti-Ragging Squad shall keep vigil, surveillance and patrolling functions. It shall be kept on mobile, alert and active at all times and shall be empowered to inspect places of potential ragging. The Squad shall investigate incidents of ragging and make recommendations to the Anti Ragging Committee.

As per the Supreme Court of India order, anyone indulging in ragging will be punished appropriately. Institute has a 'Zero tolerance policy' in this respect.
